Haryana Day 01 November

Every year Haryana day is celebrated on 1st November. This date marks the time in 1966 when the state was carved out of the existing state of East Punjab based on linguistic criteria.

Haryana Day is a regional public holiday observed in the Indian state of Haryana.

The name Haryana means ‘the land of God’. In Sanskrit, Hari means God and Ayana is home.

In terms of area, Haryana is the 21st largest state out of 29, however it has the third-highest per capital income in India.

Haryana’s 2019-20 estimated state GSDP of US$110 billion (52% services, 34% industries and 14% agriculture) is growing at 12.96% 2012-17 CAGR and placed on the 13th position behind only much bigger states, is also boosted by 30 SEZs (mainly along DMIC, ADKIC and DWPE in NCR), 7% national agricultural exports, 65% of national Basmati rice export, 67% cars, 60% motorbikes, 50% tractors and 50% refrigerators produced in India.
